Description: Imagine if you could test-drive a job before taking it, examine a candidate's performance before hiring him/her, or pinpoint exactly how a good agent can become an awesome agent.
With Upward Motion's Real Estate Simulator, you can do just that. This simulation-based technology allows individuals considering a career in real estate to "try on" the role of a real estate agent and experience firsthand the challenges and rewards of the career before jumping in. Brokers can evaluate a candidate's liklihood of success based on the behaviors they display in the simulation and can help existing agents focus their attention on areas requiring improvement.
Brokers have seen tremendous results using the Real Estate Simulator as a recruiting lead generator by placing it on their website.
Until now, assessments focused simply on personality. While personality assessments do add insight to the hiring process, they do not provide enough information on their own to make informed decisions. While a candidate may have the personality to suit a career in real estate, this does not tell us whether they have the skills to do the job. Similar in concept to a flight simulator in which a candidate or trainee is placed in the pilot seat and asked to navigate an aircraft, a simulation-based behavioral assessment places a candidate or trainee in the shoes of a real estate agent and is asked to navigate a series of sales situations with clients who are interested in buying or selling property. This provides an accurate evaluation of the individual's competencies as they pertain to real estate sales.
Two additional components are added to the simulation: a personality profile and a general cognitive ability test providing a comprehensive overview of a person's suitability for real estate sales. The result is a report that captures a breakdown of the following competancies:
Building rapport and aquiring information;
Listening and comprehension
Managing the sales process
Closing
General cognitive ability
Extraversion
Concientiousness
Emotional resilience
Success Profiler is administered by computer over the Internet and uses the latest in video simulation technology to measure a candidate's responses to "on the job" situations. During the test, the candidate plays the role of a real estate agent. Clients appear on the screen and talk to the agent; the agent then has to choose from a series of responses.
